Cato the Kitchen Dog

cato2I need to fill you in on something. Many of you don’t realize it, but dogs really like milk.

Well, I really like milk.

Keeps me in touch with my feline side. It’s an acquired taste. Rover or Roxie down the street might hike a leg at the white stuff, but I find it pleasurable to the canine palate. My personal preference is chilled and right off of the refrigerator shelf — which apparently doesn’t spill due to something called hydrophobic nanotechnology. Whew! That’s a muzzle full of words, even for a dog that types.

When Blake brings his friends over, he sometimes makes a mess — at least that’s what his mom calls it. I call it the Jackpot! Blake lets me lick the milk right off the shelf! Sure beats lapping it off the floor like with the old fridge. And the kids think it’s funny. Mom, on the other hand, not so much. Comedy, it’s hit or miss, even for a dog.

Blake makes money showing the neighborhood kids the hydrophobic spill containment feature of the shelves. Evidently they’re so impressed with these Spill Smart™ shelves they hand him the dough. With that bulging bankroll, he should buy me the organic milk from the expensive grocery store down the street.
